Massa: 'Penalty was unacceptable'

Felipe Massa has bemoaned the drive-through penalty that he was given for crossing the white line on the pit entry at the Brazilian Grand Prix.

The 32-year-old, competing in his final race for Ferrari after seven years with the Italian team, was in a fight for fourth but ended up finishing in seventh place.

"It was really a shame, I was having a great race and then, suddenly, I got a drive-through penalty for crossing the line on the main straight," AutoSport quotes Massa as saying.

"I didn't do anything wrong. I didn't overtake cars outside the track, I didn't hold anyone up. It was really a shame.

"I think it was pretty unacceptable, to be honest. I'm sure I was not the only car that crossed that line, but I was the only car that got a drive-through for that."

Massa finished eighth overall in the drivers' standings, while Ferrari came third in the team championship.
