Kimi Raikkonen: Ferrari on "right path"

Ferrari are on course to deliver improved performances, according to Kimi Raikkonen.

Kimi Raikkonen believes that Ferrari are "on the right path" as they seek to compete at the front of the Formula 1 field following a difficult start to the season.

The Finn qualified fifth for Sunday's Bahrain Grand Prix behind the Mercedes duo of Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton, who again locked out the front row for the Silver Arrows.

However, Raikkonen insists that he is happy with his grid position and even suggested that Italian constructor have the right people in place to improve on their early season performances.

He told reporters: "I am reasonably pleased with my qualifying, because up until this morning, I did not feel completely comfortable in the car, but the faith I put in what we had at our disposal was paid back with this result.

"Sure, we are not yet where we want to be, but I think we are on the right path and we have the right people to give us every possibility to continue to move forward."

At last weekend's Malaysian Grand Prix, Raikkonen could only manage a 12th-place finish.
