Report: England may host 2018 World Cup

England could be picked to host the 2018 World Cup if FIFA strip Qatar of the 2022 tournament, according to a report.

England could reportedly be picked to host the 2018 World Cup if FIFA strip Qatar of the 2022 tournament.

Reports emerged last night that FIFA official Mohammed Bin Hammam had given money to football dignitaries in return for their support for the bid.

There have been widespread calls for FIFA to reconsider Qatar's position as hosts of the 2022 World Cup, but the Qatar bid committee have denied all of the allegations against them.

According to the Daily Star, if FIFA does strip Qatar of the tournament, then they will also have to re-start bidding for the 2018 World Cup, which is due to take place in Russia.

The report goes on to claim that out of all the countries who lost out in their bid for the tournament, England are the best equipped to host the event.
