Wolverhampton Wanderers reject Norwich City's improved bid for Benik Afobe

Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Kenny Jackett reveals that the club have knocked back an approach from Norwich City for striker Benik Afobe.

Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Kenny Jackett has confirmed that the club have rejected an improved offer from Norwich City for striker Benik Afobe.

Speaking in the wake of his side's 2-1 win over Barnet in the League Cup, the Wolves boss insisted that the forward will not be sold during the current transfer window.

"They have made a bid and it has been turned down. Benik Afobe is a Wolves player and when the window shuts he will still be a Wolves player," PA quotes Jackett as saying.

"There is an enormous amount of speculation but he won't be leaving. There are big things at stake and it is not just about one player.

"We are looking at the whole picture, the amount of time left in the window, the overall prices. There is so much to consider and everything points towards not letting anyone go."

Reports suggest that Wolves have slapped a £14m price tag on Afobe.
