Wolves rebuff Celtic's Doyle approach

Celtic have failed in their attempts to lure Kevin Doyle from Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The Scottish champions were believed to have been keen to sign the Irish striker on six-month loan basis, with a view to making the move a permanent one during the summer.

However, Wolves manager Dean Saunders confirmed after his side's 2-1 defeat to Leicester City this evening that he would not be allowing the 29-year-old to leave the club.

Doyle joined Wolves from Reading in the summer of 2009.
