Wolves players to be protected from fans

Wolverhampton Wanderers are prepared for further fan unrest at this weekend's fixture with Manchester United.

Last weekend, following the 2-0 home defeat to Blackburn Rovers, Jamie O'Hara complained that some fans tried to fight him as he left Molineux.

Manager Terry Connor has described the events as "unacceptable", but he has explained that the club have alternative exits which players should use if necessary.

"I think it really is unacceptable players being abused on the way to their cars," said Connor.

"We'll be in the hands of the Safety Officers and stewards. If the situation warrants it then we've got things in place to act upon.

"The players were advised not to go out the front entrance last week. It's not pleasant, Jamie was looking out for his son, and his family."

Wolves have lost their last eight home games.
