Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Kenny Jackett: "We need to be better defensively"

Wolverhampton Wanderers lost against Leeds United because they were not good enough defensively, according to manager Kenny Jackett.

Kenny Jackett has conceded that his Wolverhampton Wanderers side did not defend well enough during their 3-2 defeat at the hands of Leeds United this evening.

The hosts took the lead through Benik Afobe, but a brace from Sam Byram and another goal courtesy of Stuart Dallas did the damage for the away side.

Speaking to the Express & Star after the final whistle, Jackett said: "When Leeds got on top of us, it was too easy for them. We need to be better defensively.

"The middle part of the game was disappointing. They got a goal back and then in particular the start of the second period Leeds outpowered us, had too much strength, too much aggression for us.

"They just had a bit too much power. It wasn't that we weren't trying. Defending as a side was tough. We gave poor goals away."

The loss has left Wolves 17th in the Championship, seven points above the drop zone.
