Wigan Athletic complete signing of Cameroon defender Gaetan Bong

Wigan Athletic have completed the signing of defender Gaetan Bong on a free transfer until the end of the season.

The 26-year-old Cameroon international, recently released by Greek side Olympiacos, was snapped up by the Latics after a trial period at the DW Stadium.

Wigan manager Malky Mackay told the club's official website: "I'm delighted Gaetan has agreed to join us. He impressed me a lot during the week.

"He is a terrific athlete, his professionalism stood out immediately and I believe he will be a very good addition to the squad."

Bong represented the Indomitable Lions at the 2010 World Cup.
