Wigan Athletic, Walsall fail to find the net in pre-season draw

Wigan Athletic and Walsall continued their preparations for the new season with a goalless draw at Christopher Park this afternoon.

Latics new signing James Tavernier came closest to breaking the deadlock with a powerful strike from range that struck the frame of the Walsall goal.

Ivan Ramis saw his effort from Martyn Waghorn's corner cleared off the line as Wigan dominated the tie, but Uwe Rosler's side failed to take their chances.

Rosler made 10 changes during the behind closed doors game that was played over three 30-minute periods.
