West Ham United boss David Moyes says that he wanted to sign one more player during the January transfer window.

West Ham United manager David Moyes has revealed that he failed to make his desired number of signings during the January transfer window.

Moyes was able to bring in Joao Mario and Jordan Hugill from Inter Milan and Preston North End respectively, but those additions only acted as replacements for Diafra Sakho and Andre Ayew.

The Hammers were linked with numerous different players, and Moyes has acknowledged that he had been interested in Islam Slimani, Leander Dendoncker and Ibrahim Amadou.

At a press conference, the 54-year-old told reporters: "We would have liked one more player. We have enough cover if we get players back. Marko [Arnautovic] is not too far away.

"We were in for Slimani, but he chose to go to Newcastle. We had interest in Dendonker and Amadou and would have been happy with one, but for whatever reason they didn't come off."

West Ham currently sit in 12th place in the Premier League table, four points above the relegation zone.
