Sam Allardyce: 'Liverpool could recall Andy Carroll in January'

Liverpool could recall Carroll

West Ham United manager Sam Allardyce has revealed that striker Andy Carroll could return to his parent club Liverpool in January.

The England international joined the Hammers on a season-long loan deal in the summer and made his debut against Fulham on September 1.

"There's an opportunity for Liverpool [to get him back in January] if they want to, but whether they do or they don't will be in a matter of time," he told Sky Sports News.

"If Andy's playing for us on a regular basis by then and that's the case, he'll have played a major part in keeping us in the league this year."

Carroll is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury he suffered in West Ham's game against Fulham.
