Andy Carroll's move to Sevilla from West Ham United collapses?

West Ham United striker Andy Carroll's proposed move to Sevilla reportedly falls through after the Spanish club instead sign Juventus striker Fernando Llorente.

A shock move to Sevilla for West Ham United striker Andy Carroll has reportedly fallen through as a knock-on effect of Juventus pulling out of a deal to allow Simone Zaza to move to the Premier League club.

It is alleged that Carroll, who has been working his way back to fitness after a knee injury, would have moved to La Liga if Zaza's switch had been completed as that deal would have led to Spain international Fernando Llorente staying with the Italian champions.

However, the Daily Mail claims that the former Liverpool striker's move was scuppered as a consequence of Juventus changing their mind on the Zaza deal.

Juventus instead allowed Llorente to seal a move to Sevilla earlier today, meaning that Carroll will instead have to stay and fight for his place at Upton Park.

The report suggests that the loan deal for the England international, who last played for his country in 2012, was a long way down the line and would have included an obligation for the Spanish club to make the transfer permanent for €12m (£8.5m) if he had played 60% of their games this season.

Carroll has not featured for West Ham since February 16 as he looks to finally return to full fitness after persistent injury troubles.
