Several West Ham United players are reportedly demanding a pay rise after discovering the salary teammate Kurt Zouma is earning.
Zouma, who was filmed kicking and slapping his pet cat last weekend, was fined £250,000 by the Hammers for his actions and his cats have been taken away by the RSPCA, who are conducting an investigation.
According to the Daily Mail, there is said to be dissatisfaction among a number of first-team players that Zouma is the club's highest earner, though their sources state that the Frenchman's wages are believed to be less than the reported £125,000 per week.
The report adds that Michail Antonio and Andriy Yarmolenko are both earning in the region of £100,000 per week, while the likes of Declan Rice, Tomas Soucek, Vladimir Coufal and Pablo Fornals are all earning 'significantly less'.
Hammers players could now seek to negotiate improved contracts with the club's hierarchy as a result of learning the sum that Zouma is currently pocketing.
Zouma, who is available to face Leicester City on Sunday, joined West Ham last summer from London rivals Chelsea for a fee close to £30m, signing a contract until June 2025.
