West Ham United decide to drop their interest in Ryoichi Maeda following a trial period at Upton Park.

Championship side West Ham United have decided not to sign Japanese international Ryoichi Maeda following a trial period with the club.

The 30-year-old had spent the last week with the Hammers, but will now return to his native Japan tomorrow.

"We understand they were unable to agree terms," his club Jubilo Iwata confirmed on their official website earlier today.

Maeda won the J-League Golden Boot award in 2009 and 2010.
