Manuel Pellegrini: 'West Ham United will pick up attacking mentality'

West Ham United manager Manuel Pellegrini is confident that his side will adapt to his new attacking philosophy quickly.

West Ham United manager Manuel Pellegrini has said that he is confident his side will pick up his attacking mentality quickly.

Pellegrini is eager to introduce a high press and possession-based game at the London Stadium following his summer arrival, but saw his side fall to a 4-0 defeat at the hands of Liverpool on the opening weekend.

The Chilean must also try to implement the philosophy with nine new faces in the squad, but he has backed his players to adapt to the change with minimum fuss.

"It is not difficult because we work every day of the week to have this mentality," he told reporters.

"To try to recover the ball, to press high, to have good possession. The way you play is the way you work during the week. I think it will be fast to create this mentality."

West Ham's next Premier League clash comes at home to Bournemouth on Saturday.
