West Ham United boss Slaven Bilic: 'Andy Carroll can hurt Liverpool'

West Ham United manager Slaven Bilic says that forward Andy Carroll is capable of "hurting" Liverpool in their Premier League clash this weekend.

West Ham United boss Slaven Bilic has backed Andy Carroll to make an impact against his former club Liverpool on Saturday evening.

Carroll has failed to score in six appearances in all competitions this season, but Bilic has suggested that the Merseyside giants play with a style that will suit the forward.

The 49-year-old told reporters: "They are not very happy with their position. They are a very good team who play offensive football, which can leave them a little open at the back.

"We've analysed them and it's not only Spurs that have exploited that. We have to be very solid when we play them. They have that pace and quality up front and on the flanks. If you have a good transition and players in the right positions you can hurt them.

"Andy Carroll is definitely one of our players who can hurt them."

Between 2011 and 2013, Carroll scored 11 goals in 58 outings for Liverpool after costing the Reds a fee of £35m.
