West Bromwich Albion announce that striker Peter Odemwingie will play no part in Sunday's Premier League clash against Tottenham Hotspur.

West Bromwich Albion have confirmed that striker Peter Odemwingie will not be part of the club's squad to take on Tottenham Hotspur this Sunday.

The 31-year-old was sent home from training with the Baggies today following last night's confusion that resulted in him arriving at Queens Park Rangers ground Loftus Road without gaining permission from West Brom.

A statement on the club's official website said: "Albion confirm that Peter Odemwingie reported for training this morning. The player met with board members Dan Ashworth and Richard Garlick and head coach Steve Clarke for preliminary discussions, which proved constructive.

"After the events of the past week, the club decided it is in the best interests of all parties that Peter is not involved in Sunday's game and he was given permission to return home."

Odemwingie has announced that he still intends to leave The Hawthorns.
