West Bromwich Albion add Ben Garner to Tony Pulis's backroom team

West Brom add Garner to backroom staff

Ben Garner has joined Tony Pulis's backroom staff at West Bromwich Albion, the club have confirmed.

The 35-year-old, who worked with Pulis during the pair's time together at Crystal Palace, will focus on the first team, while also helping with player recruitment.

"I'll be coaching the first team as well as taking a hands-on role in analysis and also recruitment," Garner told the club's official website. "Tony was great to work with at Palace from the moment he came in and I spent that season working for him.

"I got my head down and got on with the job and Tony must have liked what I brought to the role. He is a very straight guy, an experienced manager with very strong principles.

"My aims? In the short-term I want to do whatever I can to help the team to improve and push up the table. In the longer-term I want to help the club grow as a Premier League force."

Garner played at Palace as a teen, but his career was cut short due to injury when he was 19 years old.
