Tony Pulis: 'I take responsibility for West Bromwich defeat to Manchester City'

West Bromwich Albion manager Tony Pulis admits that his side's 3-0 Premier League home defeat against Manchester City was his responsibility.

West Bromwich Albion manager Tony Pulis has accepted responsibility for his side's 3-0 capitulation at the hands of Manchester City, admitting that the way he set them up was "far too loose".

The Baggies were two goals down by the half-hour mark following a brace from Yaya Toure, with Vincent Kompany effectively ending the contest at the Hawthorns with a second-half header.

Pulis told Sky Sports News after the game: "I take responsibility for the way we set up. The fact we had Saido [Berahino] and Rickie [Lambert] up front together pulled us away from what we should do.

"There are certain principles we have to stick by and work with to get results at this level and I went away from that. We created quite a few chances but we were far too loose as a team.

"We know what we need to do in the transfer market. The chairman has been very good. We're after quite a few targets and there will be players who leave the club as well."

West Brom's next Premier League fixture sees them visit newly promoted Watford on Saturday.
