West Bromwich Albion defender Joleon Lescott has admitted that he is pleased for teammate Craig Dawson after he signed a new three-year contract with the club.
Dawson marked a strong display in West Brom's 4-0 victory over Burnley on Sunday by scoring the opening goal at The Hawthorns.
The defensive partnership of Lescott and Dawson has helped the Baggies to record their first back-to-back clean sheets since April 2012.
"Craig has been here for a long time now," Lescott told West Brom's official website. "I know he's only 24 but he plays with a lot of experience.
"He is a top professional and he always wants to learn. If I can help him in any way then that's great. He has a lot of experience of playing even though he is still quite young.
"He has still got a lot to learn but one of his main attributes is that he wants to learn. When you've got that it is hard not to do well. Hopefully he goes on to be the player everyone expects him to be."
Dawson joined the West Midlands outfit from Rochdale in August 2010.
