Kevin Keen aims to improve "free-flowing football" at West Bromwich Albion

Kevin Keen aims to improve the philosophy of West Bromwich Albion after joining the club alongside head coach Steve Clarke.

West Bromwich Albion's new joint-assistant head coach Kevin Keen is determined to improve the club's style of football.

The 45-year-old joined the Baggies from Liverpool yesterday and will work alongside Keith Downing and former Reds colleague Steve Clarke.

"I'm looking forward to working with the lads and trying to improve them, because that's what I'm here to do," Keen told the club's official website.

"There is a tradition of playing good football here, similar to the one at West Ham, where I grew up. We want free-flowing fast football that people want to watch and Albion have a tradition of that.

"The football this club has been playing has been good and it has been successful. It's now about improving and making that go even further. I'm really happy and looking forward to the challenge."

West Brom will take on Liverpool in their first game of the new Premier League season on August 18.
