West Brom boss Roy Hodgson praises their away win against Newcastle.

West Brom boss Roy Hodgson has admitted that he was delighted to see his side win away from home after their 3-2 win over Newcastle on Wednesday evening.

Paul Scharner's volley five minutes from time secured the points, and Hodgson was ecstatic with his team's performance.

"It's always a good night when you win, especially when you win away from home. We know how well Newcastle have started the season and that it would be tough," Hodgson told Sky Sports News.

"I think we have done fabulously well to score the goals that we did and to come back after the disappointment of the equaliser and score late in the game."

Hodgson also praised striker Peter Odemwingie, who scored the opening goal of the night.

"Unfortunately at the start of the season we couldn't get him 100% fit but now he's getting his fitness back he's training and scoring," he said.

West Brom will attempt to make it two wins in succession when they host Manchester City on Monday.
