Steve Clarke says that he will receive advice from Jose Mourinho if needed following the pair's partnership at Chelsea.

New West Bromwich Albion manager Steve Clarke has revealed that he can call on Jose Mourinho for help as he embarks on his first stint as head coach.

The 48-year-old worked alongside the Portuguese self-proclaimed 'Special One' for three years at Chelsea before moving on to West Ham and later Liverpool.

"I know if I ever needed Jose, I could pick up the phone and ask for advice," said Clarke. "There's a friendship."

The Scotsman will undertake his first Premier League game as Baggies boss against his former club Liverpool at the Hawthorns from August 18.
