West Bromwich Albion midfielder Chris Brunt will miss the next eight to ten weeks with a fractured ankle.
The Northern Ireland international picked up the injury during his side's 1-0 defeat to Everton on New Year's Day.
A second scan on the 27-year-old's ankle has confirmed the fracture, according to the club.
Brunt will undergo surgery on Friday before beginning his rehabilitation work.
