Chris Iwelumo is told he can leave Watford on a free transfer by Hornets boss Gianfranco Zola.

Chris Iwelumo is set to leave Watford after talks with the club and will be allowed to exit on a free transfer, according to reports.

Sky Sports News understands that the Scottish international striker is not part of Gianfranco Zola's plans at Vicarage Road and will look for a new club.

The 33-year-old joined Watford from Burnley last summer but has failed to settle, scoring four goals in a season spent in and out of the Hornets' first team.

Iwelumo has been a regular Championship goalscorer throughout his career and his availability will attract a number of clubs in England's second tier.
