Championship clubs eye non-league striker

A number of Championship clubs have been scouting Margate striker Kwesi Appiah, according to Sky Sports News.

The 21-year-old is currently the leading goalscorer across the country, having found the net on 32 occasions in the Ryman Premier League.

Watford are believed to be the frontrunners for his signature, while Peterborough United are also monitoring the situation.

"Everyone in the country is looking at Kwesi and who wouldn't be after someone who has scored 32 goals by the January 2?" his adviser Saif Rubie told Sky Sports News.

"I anticipate things to be resolved with Kwesi very, very shortly about a move back to the Football League.

"Kwesi is a top talent and he is keen to try his luck again at league level."

Appiah had a spell with Peterborough as a youngster.
