Manuel Almunia among seven players released by Watford

Watford confirm that goalkeeper Manuel Almunia is among seven players who will leave the club before the end of June.

Watford have confirmed that goalkeeper Manuel Almunia is among seven players who will leave the club this month.

Almunia, Marco Cassetti, Ross Jenkins and Nyron Nosworthy will all depart Vicarage Road when their contracts expire in the next few weeks.

Meanwhile, Fitz Hall, Lucas Neill and Albert Riera will also be released by the Hornets before the end of June.

"Our thanks go to all the players whose contracts finish this summer," technical director Gianluca Nani told the Championship club's official website.

"They have helped create some great moments over the last few years that everyone connected with the club will remember fondly."

Meanwhile, Watford have revealed that goalkeeper Gary Woods remains in talks with the club over a new deal.

The 23-year-old shot-stopper's current contract is due to expire at the end of the month.
