Watford increasing Vicarage Road capacity for Premier League return

Watford announce that they are to extend the capacity of Vicarage Road by 700 seats, ahead of their return to the Premier League.

Watford have announced that they will increase the capacity of Vicarage Road ahead of their Premier League return by adding 700 more seats.

The additional seating will be built in the Sir Elton John Stand and will take the stadium's capacity beyond 21,000.

In order to improve the ground for hosting Premier League games, the club will also be required to install goal-line technology and a permanent television studio.

The Hornets finished second in the Championship last season to earn promotion to the top flight.

Watford last played Premier League football in the 2006-07 campaign.
