Watford manager Marco Silva admits to being "disappointed" after watching his side squander a lead to lose late on at home to Swansea City.

Watford manager Marco Silva has admitted that he has been left "disappointed" after his side blew the lead to lose 2-1 at home to relegation-threatened Swansea City this afternoon.

Andre Carrillo put the Hornets in the driving seat with just 11 minutes on the clock at Vicarage Road, but in the dying minutes of the encounter, Jordan Ayew found an equaliser before Luciano Narsingh claimed an injury-time winner for Carlos Carvalhal's visitors.

After an impressive start to the campaign, which saw them as high as fourth in the table by mid-October, Silva's side have now taken just four points from the last 24 available and are down to 10th.

"It's really hard to take. We are disappointed, our fans are as well," Silva told reporters afterwards. "We did enough to win the match. We controlled the match. They had one shot off the bar but we controlled the match, scored one goal and had more chances to kill the match, even seconds before the goal.

"At this level, when you don't score, it gives them belief. One cross after, they score one goal and it looks a bit offside. Even with 1-1 we need to be different, to keep focus to the end.

"We did enough to win. We need to kill the match and that is a gift for them. We created enough chances to comfortably win this match."

Next up for Silva's side is a daunting trip to the Etihad to face league leaders Manchester City on Tuesday night.
