O'Donnell handed Walsall trial

Former Chesterfield goalkeeper Richard O'Donnell has been handed a trial at Walsall.

O'Donnell was released by the Spireites at the end of the last campaign after falling down the pecking order at the B2net Stadium.

The 24-year-old also spent time on loan at Conference club Stockport County, but the Saddlers are interested in giving the former Sheffield Wednesday shot-stopper another opportunity in League One.

Walsall are currently without a senior goalkeeper at the club and used four loan signings between the posts last season.
