Southall fears Coleman axe

Neville Southall has claimed that Chris Coleman could be sacked as Wales manager if the team lose Friday's World Cup qualifier against Scotland.

The two nations go head to head at Hampden Park with both sides having little chance of progressing from Group A.

"It's a massive game for both countries, probably more so for us," Former Welsh goalkeeper Southall is quoted as saying by The Sun.

"[Gordon] Strachan will be given another chance if they lose but it could nail the coffin for our boss. We need to win it for our sake.

"Personally, I wouldn't sack Coleman but if we lose this there will be a lot of people queuing up to put a knife in his back."

Coleman was appointed Wales manager in January 2012 following the death of Gary Speed.
