Bale plays down injury fears

Wales winger Gareth Bale has revealed that he should be fit for Tuesday's World Cup qualifier against Croatia after coming off during Friday's win over Scotland.

Bale was withdrawn at half time at Hampden Park with what was thought to be an ankle injury.

However, the 23-year-old has confirmed that it was due to a virus that he had been suffering in the build-up to the game.

"Just clearing the air... nothing wrong with my ankle," he tweeted. "I came off at HT due to the stomach virus I've had all week. Should be ok for Tuesday."

Goals from Aaron Ramsey and Hal Robson-Kanu helped Wales to a 2-1 victory over Scotland in their World Cup qualifier encounter.
