Gareth Bale: 'It felt like home game'

Wales star Gareth Bale has praised the nation's travelling supporters after the team won their opening Group B game at Euro 2016.

Bale and Hal Robson-Kanu scored in a 2-1 victory over Slovakia in Bordeaux on Friday.

Ondrej Duda scored a second-half equaliser, but Chris Coleman's side managed to pick up three points thanks to Robson-Kanu's 81st-minute winner.

The match was Wales's first in a major tournament since 1958.

"It was like home game today," Bale told BBC Sport. "Our fans are the best in the world. They fully got behind us and we've given them something to celebrate.

"It was a memorable moment [to score], a historic moment for our country, but it doesn't matter about the goals - we've got the three points.

"Hal to get the winner was amazing. It's a squad game, we all know that, everyone has their part to play and we'll keep fighting. We're taking it one game as it comes. We've done the first part, two more to go and we'll keep fighting on."

Wales will take on England and Russia in their next two group games.
