Wales forward Gareth Bale confident of dealing with 'suspect' 3G pitch in Andorra

Bale confident of handling 'dodgy' Andorra pitch

Gareth Bale has expressed his confidence in the Wales team to handle the controversial 3G artificial pitch in Andorra and begin their Euro 2016 qualifying campaign with a win on Tuesday.

Wales begin their qualifiers with a trip to Group B's minnows, but the match was almost moved after the 3G surface in Andorran capital Andorra La Vella was deemed too fast.

The pitch has now been cleared by UEFA and Real Madrid superstar Bale is certain that he and his teammates can overcome the suspect playing surface.

"There's been a lot of talk about [the pitch] but you have to put it to one side," Bale told FAW TV. "Certain players and people don't like it and that's normal.

"But we have a job to do and when you're playing for your country, no matter where the game is or what it's played on, we're going to give 100% and try to win the game."

Wales have never qualified for the final tournament of the European Championships.
