Former West Bromwich Albion midfielder Borja Valero scored the only goal of the game as Villarreal took all three points against Real Betis this evening.

The 26-year-old struck in the 23rd minute when he turned in a pass from fellow midfielder Ruben.

Jorge Molina spurned two chances before the break to draw the away side level.

After the break Jonathan De Guzman missed a good chance to extend Villarreal's lead in the 70th minute, but he shot wide of Casto's goal.

However, his miss wasn't punished as the Yellow Submarine claimed the victory.

Betis have now gone five consecutive La Liga matches without scoring a goal.
