Draw helps Fenerbahce overcome Viktoria Plzen

Fenerbahce have qualified for the quarter-finals of the Europa League by securing a 2-1 aggregate victory over Viktoria Plzen.

Leading 1-0 from the first leg in the Czech Republic, Fenerbahce extended their advantage on 44 minutes.

Baroni Cristian squared to Salih Ucan, who slotted the ball into the bottom corner of the net from 12 yards.

Vladimir Darida netted a stunning away goal for Plzen with a long-range strike on the hour mark.

That goal ensured a nervy end to the game for the hosts, but they held firm thanks to a couple of vital saves by goalkeeper Volkan Demirel.
