How Peru could line up against Venezuela

Peru will look to field a full-strength side for Sunday's Copa America clash with Venezuela, given they simply need to avoid defeat to book their place in the knockout stage.

Their squad did take a surprising hit upon the squad announcement, though, as manager Ricardo Gareca opted to omit experienced forwards Raul Ruidiaz and Paolo Guerrero from his Copa America squad, with Guerrero leading their all-time scoring charts.

In their absence, Gianluca Lapadula has led the line, and he opened his account for the tournament with a goal in their 2-2 draw with Ecuador last time out.

Behind him, the trio of Christian Cueva, Sergio Pena and Andre Carrillo is crucial to the Peruvian system, having contributed to three of the side's four goals so far.

Yoshimar Yotun and Renato Tapia will continue to shield the defence, having been impressive so far in the tournament.

They will sit in front of the back four of Aldo Corzo, Alexander Callens, Christian Ramos and Miguel Trauco, shielding Orlando City goalkeeper Pedro Gallese.

Peru possible starting lineup: Gallese; Corzo, Ramos, Callens, Trauco; Yotun, Tapia; Carrillo, Pena, Cueva; Lapadula
