Danilo Diaz, Jhonder Cadiz strikes fire Uniao to victory over Tondela

Uniao have secured a vital victory in the Primeira Liga clash against Tondela with a 2-0 win at the Estadio do Centro Desportivo da Madeira.

The home side pressed in the early stages of the match, but were unable to find a way through Tondela's resilient play at the back.

However, their pressure finally told in the 42nd minute when Uniao took the lead through a strike from Danilo Dias as he beat Claudio with a low strike to the bottom corner.

Uniao doubled their advantage when Jhonder Cadiz beat his man at the near post to steer a cross from the left into the top corner.

The home side could have extended their advantage, but Cadiz and Amilton missed late opportunities, but they were able to hold out to clinch a crucial three points.

Uniao rise to 15th in the table with their victory, while Tondela remain rooted to the foot of the table.
