Santos deny Ganso departure

Santos vice-president Odilio Rodrigues has insisted that the Brazilian club will not allow Ganso to depart the club.

It had been reported that the 22-year-old midfielder would not feature for the club again as he seeks out a move to Europe. However, Santos have quelled such suggestions.

"There is no such thing as Ganso not playing again for Santos. He did not play against Gremio on Sunday because of some physical problems," Rodrigues told Globoesporte.

"We would not like to comment on such matters. He is a player of Santos and has a contract until 2015."

Ganso has eight Brazilian caps to his name.
