Toronto slash Defoe asking price?

Toronto FC have reportedly slashed their asking price for Jermain Defoe in half, as the former Tottenham Hotspur striker could now cost clubs £3m.

Defoe is currently training with Spurs' developmental squad and has been linked with a move to Hull City.

Spurs could potentially move for the striker and bring him back for his third spell at the club, but Daniel Levy is unlikely to make a move for the 32-year-old despite the price reduction, according to The Mirror.

The North London club are reportedly looking to strengthen their attacking line, with misfiring Roberto Soldado and Emmaunel Adebayor only scoring a handful of goals between them this season.

Liverpool have also been linked with the Toronto striker and are yet to rule out a move for the former England international.
