Torino battle past Bologna

Torino battle past Bologna

Torino have recorded their first away win of the Serie A campaign after proving too strong for 10-man Bologna at the Renato Dall'Ara.

The visitors flew out of the blocks and were ahead after two minutes when Danilo D'Ambrosio met Matteo Darmian's cross, scoring his second goal in as many matches.

Bologna struggled to create clear-cut chances but made the most of a set-piece to level just before the half-hour mark, as Cesare Natali steered home Alessandro Diamanti's inviting delivery.

Just before the break a frantic goalmouth scramble saw Torino awarded a penalty kick.

Alessio Cerci's free kick came back off the crossbar and out towards Omar El Kaddouri, who was brought down in the box by Francesco Della Rocca.

Cerci stepped up to slot home the spot kick but Bologna's anger at the decision did not end at the half-time whistle, with Natali sent off for dissent as he confronted the official while leaving the field.

Giampiero Ventura's side used their numerical advantage to close out their second victory of the campaign, with the Rossoblu unable to make the most of some late pressure.
