The first chance of the game fell to the Turin club when Mario Santana shot wide in the second minute, before Angelo Ogbonna almost scored an own goal when he misread a cross from Ignazio Abate.

Giampaolo Pazzini came close for the Rossoneri when he headed Mattia De Sciglio's cross just over the Torino crossbar.

It was the Turin side who took the lead in the 28th minute, thanks to Antonio Nocerino's howler.

The midfielder's backpass from the midfield went straight to Santana, who dribbled his way into the Milan penalty area and shot home.

Milan, though, equalised in the 40th minute when Robinho ran down the left side of the box past Valerio Di Cesare and smashed his shot past goalkeeper Jean-Francois Gillet from a narrow angle and into the Torino goal.

Massimiliano Allegri's side went ahead in the 53rd minute when Gillet failed to properly deal with Stephan El Shaarawy's cross from the left and Nocerino headed home the rebound.

Then just after the hour mark, Pazzini scored Milan's third goal of the afternoon when he skipped past a number of challenges and shot home past Gillet.

Urby Emanuelson almost made it 4-1 to the Rossoneri in the 71st minute but was unlucky to see his curling effort from 25 yards clip the Palermo crossbar.

Then two minutes later Pazzini's header from an El Shaarawy cross rattled the post.

Milan's next chance saw them go 4-1 up, as El Shaarawy took advantage of yet another mistake from Gillet to tap in from close range.

Rolando Bianchi scored for Torino with 10 minutes of normal time left on the clock, but that proved to be too little too late.
