Swindon Town chairman: 'No money to spend in January'

Swindon won't enter transfer window

Swindon Town chairman Sir William Patey has revealed that the League One outfit will not be dipping into the transfer market this month.

The Robins are eligible to buy players following a transfer embargo imposed on the club since last October but Patey has admitted that there are no funds for manager Paolo di Canio.

"We don't have money to spend on players, that is the reality," Patey told BBC Wiltshire.

Swindon are currently fifth in the league table.
