Swansea City defender Alan Tate has agreed terms on a loan deal to move to Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership for the rest of the season.
Dons manager Derek McInnes said that it was important to fill a gap in the squad that was left by Michael Hector's return from loan to parent club Reading.
"I've made no secret of the fact that, even if Michael does come back, we are pretty short in terms of cover in that department," McInnes told the club's official website website.
"I'm delighted to bring in someone with Alan's experience. While Alan is predominantly a centre-back, he can also play at full-back if required, and he'll go straight into the squad for Sunday."
Tate, who has played nearly 300 times for Swansea, has been unable to establish himself in the side in the last two seasons.
