Swansea tie Barrow down until 2018

Swansea City have tied down Gambian forward Modou Barrow to a four-year contract extension.

The 22-year-old, who joined the Swans from Swedish club Ostersunds on a short-term deal in September, is now committed to the Liberty Stadium until 2018.

He has made four first-team appearances, becoming the first player from his country to feature in the Premier League by coming off the bench in the 2-1 victory over Arsenal.

Barrow scored his first Swansea goal in their 6-2 FA Cup third-round win at Tranmere Rovers last weekend.

Meanwhile, the Welsh outfit seem poised to lose star striker Wilfried Bony to Manchester City, with the Ivorian expected to agree personal terms with the champions today ahead of a £30m move.
