Garry Monk: 'We are not interested in selling Michu'

Monk rejects Michu rumours

Swansea City boss Garry Monk has claimed that Michu will not be leaving the club.

The striker, who scored 22 goals last season, has struggled with injuries this term and has missed the last 15 games.

Rumours have suggested that Russian outfit Anzhi Makhachkala are preparing a bid for the Spaniard, but Monk is adamant that he has a future at the Liberty Stadium.

"We've had no offers and Michu should concentrate on getting back on that pitch for us. He's a big part of our plans going forward," Monk is quoted as saying by The Mirror.

"Michu is the type of player who will attract interest and he is a good player. We're not a selling club and players who have been sold, it has been for the right price."

Michu joined the Swans from Rayo Vallecano in 2012.
