Wieghorst to 'join Swansea as Laudrup's deputy'

Swansea City are reportedly close to appointing former Celtic star Morten Wieghorst as assistant to manager Michael Laudrup.

Laudrup's current deputy Erik Larsen will move into a scouting role to accommodate the appointment, according to PA.

Wieghorst, who played alongside the Swans boss in the Danish national team, currently coaches Denmark Under-21s.

Swansea first-team coach Alan Curtis is expected to remain in his current role should the appointment go through.
