Swansea City's Leon Britton calls on players to "respect" Francesco Guidolin

Leon Britton says that Swansea City manager Francesco Guidolin deserves "respect" following a frustrating start to the season.

Swansea City captain Leon Britton has urged his teammates to "respect" manager Francesco Guidolin following a frustrating start to the season.

The Welsh outfit have recorded three defeats and a draw in the Premier League since their opening-day 1-0 victory over Burnley in August.

Britton has insisted that there is no tension behind the scenes, despite Neil Taylor and Ki Sung-yueng failing to hide their frustrations at being substituted in their last two outings.

"We have to be professional and respect the manager and the group of players we've got," Britton told reporters in a press conference. "If you have an issue with anything we deal with it in the changing room.

"As much as there's frustration and emotion running high - when you're not performing well we have to remember we are professionals and we have to respect everyone involved in the football club and I hope that's the last we see of that."

The Swans will now switch their attention to the EFL Cup as they prepare to take on Manchester City at the Liberty Stadium tomorrow.
