Team News: Swansea City captain Ashley Williams ruled out of Valencia clash

Swansea City captain Ashley Williams is ruled out of his side's Europa League clash against Valencia, while Wilfried Bony is fit to start.

Swansea City will be without their captain Ashley Williams for tonight's opening Europa League group clash against Valencia.

The Wales international has been sidelined with an ankle problem, which kept him out of training yesterday, meaning that Angel Rangel will captain the side.

Midfielder Jonjo Shelvey has been demoted to the bench because of his performance in Monday evening's Premier League 2-2 draw with Liverpool.

Despite suffering a rib injury during this week's clash against Liverpool, Wilfried Bony has been handed a starting spot alongside Michu.

Valencia: Guaita; Barragan, Rami, Mathieu, Guardado; Fuego, Ever, Feghouli; Fede, Canales, Postiga

Swansea: Vorm; Rangel, Flores, Amat, Tiendalli; De Guzman, Canas, Pozuelo, Dyer; Michu, Bony
