Sunderland 'aiming to bring in two more'

Sunderland have plans to add a couple more players to their squad before the January transfer window closes, according to a report.

Black Cats boss Chris Coleman has so far been left frustrated on the final day of business, having supposedly missed out on goalkeeper Andy Lonergan and striker Ollie McBurnie.

Those are two areas of the field Coleman hopes to strengthen in the remaining hours of the window, and the Sunderland Echo suggests that the wheels are in motion to do exactly that.

Middlesbrough's Ashley Fletcher, who has struggled for league starts since arriving from West Ham United last summer, is said to be in talks with Sunderland, while Lee Camp may also be given the green light to join from Cardiff City.

Camp has not yet played a competitive game for Cardiff due to an injury picked up while at Rotherham United last season, but he is now available for selection and is seen as a solid short-term option between the posts.

Sunderland have already completed one piece of business on deadline day, however, as young midfielder Ovie Ejaria has joined from Liverpool.
